Hi Guys!

Carver wanted his picture taken becuase I was taking pics of the dog and hay. So here he is!

An Even Better Sight!!!

So we got the last 60 bales loaded in the barn yesterday. What a nice sight! We're probably going to get us a few more from third crop cuttings, but this hay will go a long ways! Woohoo!!!

Dog Grooming 1-0-1

My skills never cease to amaze me! Hahaha! So Skeeter is headed back to Oklahoma next week for a big training trial. Mike has been working with the trainer for a couple months getting Skeeter up to level. The trainer needed Skeeter's long hair shaved to help with avoiding burrs and ticks. And the dog groomers want $80 to do a dog his size. So I decided I have a set of clippers, why not give it a shot. But I couldn't go against the hair shaving like I do with the horses becuase my blades would do it too short (need to invest in some longer clipper blades). Its a bit choppy, but I think I did a good job considering the tools.

Missoula Show Results

Just got back from the Missoula Montana show on Sunday. We had fun (went up with a couple friends for 2 1/2 days). Chase did great! He took 1st in versatility out of 3 horses. The judges commented on what a nice versatility horse he is. I was proud of that since I've done all the training. He also took 1st in ammy hunter with 7 horses in the class and 1st/2nd in ladies and ammy western pleasure driving (2 judge show). He got 2nd/3rd in halter with 12 in the class. Overall it was a good show and Chase placed very well. It rained friday and sunday on us. Saturday was a bit overcasted, but nice since we were in and out of the arena a lot. Montana is sure pretty! Need to talk Mike into driving up and hopefully thinking about retiring up there! Heehee! Plant the seed now since we still have 25 more years before retirement. Our next show is in Blackfoot on the 17-18 of July. Need to remember to bring my camera! Hit these shows and have no pics to show.

What a Nice Sight!!!

Mike brought me 55 bales of hay yesterday. We got it loaded into the barn today. You would be proud of me since I stacked and unloaded 3/4 of the trailer by myself. We're going to go back and get 60 more bales tomorrow. Should cover us pretty good this winter if we can get the big horses sold. But its so nice to see lots of hay in the barn this time of the year!

Carver's Visits to Grandpa

Mike has been making weekly trips up to see his grandpa on his day off. He takes Carver along. Carver knows as soon as Mike hits a certain part in Ogden that they are headed to "papa's" house. Carver enjoys the visits. Here are some pics of them from last week.

More Horse Show Results...

We had our last AMHA show on Saturday. Took Chase and kicked some major tail! Woohooo!!! I'm so proud of him becuase I've done every stitch of training on that horse (he was a wild beast when I got him). The judges complemented me several times on how nice he is and how well he was progressing in the cart (this is only his 3rd show driving. So he's VERY green). We took first place in jumper, hunter, versatility, AOTE driving, Amateur halter and AOTE halter. We took a first and second in open driving against a proffessionally trained horse. Very proud of that one! And we also took home 2 grand champion senior gelding awards. So not bad at all! I'm taking him to a proffessional trainer this weekend so that he can see him drive and tell me what he needs improvement in. Its hard to see what needs to be improved when you're the one behind the butt. Hahaha! Then off to Missoula Montana with him on the 19-21st.
