Farewell 2008!!!

Its new years eve. I was just thinking back on the events that happened this year. We've bought and sold houses, moved 3 hours north and remodeled (once again) another house. We moved due to Mike's job transfer. I started working full time again. Both our cars clocked over 100,000 miles. I added 4 new horses to the herd, one being a foal we bred for. Carver started walking and talking this year. We advanced up to a forward facing car seat. Went through 3 different sizes in shoes and clothes for Carver. We lost a long time family pet (Callie) and acquired a new english setter puppy. And we all turned one year older!

We hope everyone enjoyed their 2008 and have plans to make 2009 stupendous!!!

Happy New Year Everyone!! Make those new year resolutions come true!

Highlights from My Show Season....

I thought I'd tell everyone how my critters did this show season now that we are over with Christmas parties and awards. I only showed a couple horses this year. We got too busy with the move. I also had a show horses develop medical problems (Huey was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease and Kirby needed stifle surgery to fix his problem). So that put a damper in me showing them. Kirby is up and moving again and I plan on taking him back in the ring next season as Carver's show horse. Huey has been retired to the pasture and enjoys his days lounging around.

RJ (NJs Fudge Swirl) did great! We purchased him in July. He's our first shetland and has been super fun! I showed him at 2 shows this year. We took 1 supreme champion and a 2nd in jumping (our first time jumping at a show). We also to the MWMHSPO high point classic gelding for 2008. Woohoo!!! RJ will continue his halter and jumping career next year. We plan on training him to drive next spring also.

Chase (Summer's Chasin Rainbows) did great this year. I got him from a great lady in February. The dang horse was nuts, but he was a great project. I did all his training. This year alone, we ended up with 3 supreme championships (that is the best of the best at the show award). 2 of those were with the AMHA club and the other was with the AMHR club. He also took a few first in jumping and hunter (with this being his first year in jumping). I entered him in the gelding incentive program through our local AMHR club and he took second place (won $54 back). We also got $75 for our placing at the Region amateur gelding incentive class. So we were happy with our loot. He has been driving a little this fall. I'm excited to get him in the show ring with the cart. He'll be shown in western country pleasure next year.

My Christmas Gift....

I have to show off what Mike got me for Christmas. Besides boots (which I always ask for on every occassion), Mike got me a show halter for RJ. I'm excited to show him in it next year as I have a show jacket to match. Here he is looking oh so sexy in his new halter (ignore all his fur!).

Its snowing....AGAIN!!!!

Okay, I tried to get a picture so you guys could see it was snowing. But the flakes didn't show up on camera. So you get a nice winter scene instead. Its snowing though!!! I wish it would just give us a break. The weatherman says we're suppose to have a week of good weather (like they are very believable). So lets hope the snow stops. My car has been parked in the driveway for two weeks. Mustangs just aren't cut out for a foot of snow driving weather.

Trouble....

Here's what Carver does on days he decides that he doesn't want to take a nap. He manages to be destructive even in his "cage." Yes, that is his dirty laundry basket in his crib and dirty laundry strewn all over the place.

Holy Snow!!!

We got dumped on for Christmas!!! Over a foot of snow and lots of wind. We have some drifts that are huge (we couldn't see our sheds during the storm becuase the wind had covered them with snow). Here's Mike and Carver clearing the way for us!!

Christmas at my Sister's...

We headed over to my sister's to exchange gifts and have lunch. Here are some pics from there....

Eating Tacos....

Carver decided to eat half my taco at the party. He thought it was great to show off what he was eating to his daddy!

Bowling....

We had the family Christmas party yesterday. Everyone went bowling. Carver LOVED it!!! He loved pushing the ball off the ramp and he would clap and cheer every time. His only problem was, is he wanted to do it all the time and not wait his turn for the others to bowl.

Grandpa's Birthday

Yesterday was Carver's Great Grandpa's 86th Birthday. We stopped by to wish him a great day.

Carver....

Carver thought it was fun to hear the sound of his voice echoing through our empty basement (we get carpet tommorrow!!!). Be sure you have the sound turned up loud.

Pony Time!!

Thought I'd throw RJ out in the pasture before the bad weather hits tomorrow so that he could stetch his legs. Here's some pics of him playing around. He sure is pretty!!!

Puting up the Tree!!!

We bought this little tree last year becuase our 9 foot one wouldn't fit in our Scipio house. Well, we ended up giving away our big tree becuase it wouldn't fit in this house. So we'll buy a new tree as soon as the basement is finished, but I decided its too long to wait without being festive. So our rinky-dink tree went up in the front room. Carver helped put the ornaments on.

Thanksgiving Day!!!

Thanksgiving Day was spent with Mike's family. We went over to his Grandpa's house and the rest of his family met up there to enjoy a nice dinner. Carver loved the pie, fruit salad and his Aunt Mindy taught him how to put olives on his fingers. We enjoyed the company, ate lots of food, and relaxed!

Big Shoes To Fill...

Carver likes to put on our shoes after we take them off. He thinks he's big enough to wear daddy's boots. He also likes to show his belly off.
