Highlights from My Show Season....

I thought I'd tell everyone how my critters did this show season now that we are over with Christmas parties and awards. I only showed a couple horses this year. We got too busy with the move. I also had a show horses develop medical problems (Huey was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease and Kirby needed stifle surgery to fix his problem). So that put a damper in me showing them. Kirby is up and moving again and I plan on taking him back in the ring next season as Carver's show horse. Huey has been retired to the pasture and enjoys his days lounging around.

RJ (NJs Fudge Swirl) did great! We purchased him in July. He's our first shetland and has been super fun! I showed him at 2 shows this year. We took 1 supreme champion and a 2nd in jumping (our first time jumping at a show). We also to the MWMHSPO high point classic gelding for 2008. Woohoo!!! RJ will continue his halter and jumping career next year. We plan on training him to drive next spring also.

Chase (Summer's Chasin Rainbows) did great this year. I got him from a great lady in February. The dang horse was nuts, but he was a great project. I did all his training. This year alone, we ended up with 3 supreme championships (that is the best of the best at the show award). 2 of those were with the AMHA club and the other was with the AMHR club. He also took a few first in jumping and hunter (with this being his first year in jumping). I entered him in the gelding incentive program through our local AMHR club and he took second place (won $54 back). We also got $75 for our placing at the Region amateur gelding incentive class. So we were happy with our loot. He has been driving a little this fall. I'm excited to get him in the show ring with the cart. He'll be shown in western country pleasure next year.
