Just a Horse

Love this poem. Anyone who's ever owned a horse knows just what it means:

"Just A Horse"
From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a horse,"
or, "that's a lot of money for "just a horse".

They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a horse."
Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a horse."

Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a horse," but I did not once feel slighted.
Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a horse," and in those days of darkness,
the gentle touch of "just a horse" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a horse," then you will probably understand phrases like
"just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."

"Just a horse" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy.
"Just a horse" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.

Because of "just a horse" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.
So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a horse" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future,
the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

"Just a horse" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.
I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a horse," but the thing that
gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a woman."

So the next time you hear the phrase "just a horse" just smile, because they "just" don't understand.
Just A Horse . . .

April Fools!!!

Hope everyone survived the pranks today. I didn't get any pranks played on. Sure wish I did. We had state proficiency testing today. Sure wish when I walked into work they said....haha! April Fools! Its not state testing today. Wishful thinking I guess......! But the testing is done, now comes the hard part of analyzing what I tested the next couple days.

Sorry Peeps!!!

So I've been slacking on posting lately. I'm sitting in class right now waiting for the proffessor to get done with the first web design class (which I already took) and start the second web design class (which I'm in now). So I've been wasting time on the computer. We've been busy and can't seem to find time to sit down. Mike's been tearing apart the backyard. Definately need to get pics of him dragging a tractor harrow around with the 4-wheeler. Its chained to the hitch to stay on and then has tires and chains strapped to the top to weight it down. Quite redneckish if I don't say so myself. But he has also got the bead board up in the kitchen and the cabinet fronts built. I have pics of stuff, just got to get the time to sit down and do it. Will get stuff posted in the next couple days....promise! I'm just taking advantage of the weather when it isn't raining or snowing (or blowing like the dickens!). Got pony shows coming up and lots of training still to do.

Walking in Heels!

Carver decided to pull my heels out of the box today and walk around in them. Not too sure what's inticing about them to him, but he thoroughly enjoyed himself. Here's pics of him looking stylish!

Oh Boy!!!

When I shower, I lock Carver in the bathroom with me on times when Mike isn't home. Who knows what type of destruction a 2 year old can do to a house in 20 minutes. So I figure this is the best way to keep him out of trouble. Well, I was wrong. I had been having a crappy day on Saturday and just forgot to zip up my makeup bag. Carver took full advantage of that. He gave himself a makeover. You can't see the foundation on him, but all the black is my mascara (which goes up to his ear on one side). I caught him before he could get the eyeliner pen open. But he kept the mess to his face (thank goodness!). But I just asked him....Why???

Helping Daddy!!!

Carver likes to help daddy. Mike has been working on the kitchen the past few days. Carver helps Mike collect the tools. Well that day, he was wearing his carpenter jeans. He thought it was super cool to store the screw drivers and such in his pants while following daddy around. Here's him showing off his cool new jeans!

Giddy Up!

Carver just loves this little rocking horse he got 2 years ago for Christmas. He drags it all over the house. Well that night, he couldn't find his chair to eat dinner. So he just pulls his horse up to the table, hops on, and proceeds to eat. (PS-don't mind the mess in the kitchen. Its still under construction).
